We are looking for a Java Backend Developer
Main Tasks
- Develop and maintain backend applications using Java 8+.
- Design, implement and optimize scalable and reliable solutions.
- Work with Hadoop technologies, including Spark and Hive, for data processing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams following Agile methodologies.
- Develop and maintain unit tests to ensure software quality.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to best development practices.
- Work with relational databases to develop efficient data solutions.
- Support application deployment and continuous integration activities.
- Troubleshoot, debug and resolve technical issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and technical solutions.
Main Skills & Requirements
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
- 3–6 years of professional experience developing backend applications with Java 8 or above.
- Experience working in Linux environments.
- Strong knowledge of JUnit, Maven and Git.
- Experience with the Hadoop ecosystem, including Spark and Hive.
- Good understanding of relational databases.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
- Good communication skills in both Portuguese and English (minimum B2 level).
Nice to have
- Experience with Spring Boot.
- Knowledge of React.
- Agile development experience.
- DevOps mindset.
- Knowledge of Perl.
- Experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD tools.
- French language skills.
WHAT WE OFFER
- This role offers a gross annual salary between 24.500€ to 60.500€, defined according to the candidate’s experience and competencies.
