Location Address: Hybrid - 40 King Street W 23rd Floor, Toronto – 2 days/week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays – subject to change)
Subject to change: 3–4 days onsite may be required based on business needs
Contract Duration: ASAP to 10/31/2026 FYE
Possibility of extension & hope for them to convert to FTE

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
1) 8+ years’ hands-on experience in Java (JDK 21+), Spring Boot, and microservices architecture
2) 5+ years’ experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration
3) 8+ years’ experience with multi-threaded and concurrent programming
4) 5+ years’ experience with performance testing, monitoring and tuning (e.g. Dynatrace), and security scans (SAST, DAST)
5) 3 + years of experience with Redis for distributed caching
Nice-To-Have Skills:
1) Familiarity with C++ is a plus
2) Proven experience delivering large-scale, end-to-end systems
3) Experience in derivatives space within capital markets is an asset
4) Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade application development and deployment
5) Strong experience with Agile / iterative SDLC methodologies – JIRA/Confluence
6) Experience with cloud technologies (GCP preferred)
7) Experience from the client Scotiabank to be able to conduct a reference check would be helpful so they can hit the ground running

1 technical round – 2 hours max – includes technical questions and coding exercises (approx. 3 questions – Java and depending on their specific skillset) – HM and technical team member
