JAVA Backend Development Engineer

Location Requirement: This role is based in Kuala Lumpur
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for the technical development of trading and asset systems, delivering a superior trading experience for users and enabling healthier, faster, and more stable business growth.
Deeply involved in the full lifecycle of core features — design, development, testing, and release — as well as production data analysis, iterative optimization, and resolution of complex issues.
Understand and master common Java architectural design, performance optimization, and high-availability principles, and apply them flexibly to optimize critical-path systems.
Think holistically about existing and future systems, planning and building unified frameworks, platforms, or components.
Stay current with cutting-edge technologies and methodologies, applying innovative approaches to solve technical challenges driven by business needs. Leverage technology to drive business evolution, uncover potential, and expand business boundaries.
Requirements
5+ years of development and design experience; solid Java fundamentals with a strong understanding of I/O, multithreading, collections, and core frameworks; familiarity with JVM internals; proficient in object-oriented design and development.
Familiar with open-source frameworks (Spring / Spring MVC / iBatis) with a solid understanding of their core concepts and underlying principles.
Extensive hands‑on experience with at least one mainstream relational or non‑relational database.
Familiar with distributed system design and implementation, including distributed computing, caching, messaging, search, and recommendation mechanisms; able to appropriately apply common distributed technologies to solve real-world problems.
Proficiency with AI-powered development tools such as Claude Code or Cursor is a plus.
