Role Overview
Our client is supporting the development of advanced AI systems by incorporating high-quality software engineering expertise into training and evaluation workflows.
We are looking for experienced Java backend engineers with strong hands-on expertise in Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and scalable backend architecture . The role involves building and reviewing production-grade backend systems, improving reliability and performance, and contributing technically rigorous software outputs that help train next-generation AI systems. No prior AI experience is required .
CONTRACT: Contractor assignment
COMMITMENT: Full-time
LOCATIONS: Remote
NOTES: Compensation ranges from $60–$110 per hour .
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java backend systems .
- Build production-grade services using Spring Boot .
- Architect and implement robust microservices for complex application requirements.
- Develop and maintain REST APIs and backend integrations.
- Review technical specifications and translate them into reliable implementations.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend services for performance and stability.
- Participate in code reviews and provide technically grounded feedback.
- Improve backend reliability, security, maintainability, and scalability.
- Document technical decisions, architecture, and implementation details clearly.
- Collaborate with distributed engineering teams on complex backend development tasks.
Requirements
- Strong professional experience with Java backend development.
- Advanced hands-on experience with Spring Boot .
- Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and design principles .
- Experience designing and building REST APIs.
- Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient production code.
- Strong understanding of backend architecture, data structures, and software engineering best practices.
- Experience troubleshooting and optimizing backend applications.
- Professional written and spoken English .
