The Java Developer III will support backend development initiatives focused on Spring Boot microservices within a baggage platform development environment. This role requires a hands‑on developer with strong expertise in Java, cloud‑native application development, event‑driven architecture, and AWS technologies
The ideal candidate will be a self-driven professional capable of collaborating with architecture, product, and functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing enterprise solutions in an Agile development environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain enterprise software applications and backend systems
- Build and support cloud-native applications using Spring Boot microservices, AWS technologies, and the Solace eventing platform
- Collaborate with architecture, product management, and cross-functional teams to deliver secure and scalable solutions
- Participate in architecture and design discussions while ensuring adherence to coding standards and development best practices
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices-based applications
- Work within Agile development environments with a focus on continuous integration and continuous delivery
- Analyze, refactor, and optimize existing code for scalability, maintainability, and performance improvements
- Estimate development efforts and contribute to release planning and delivery schedules
- Support troubleshooting, issue resolution, and production support activities
- Contribute to DevOps and CI/CD pipeline implementation and optimization efforts
- Ensure application security and support vulnerability management initiatives
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Java Developer
- Minimum 2 years of experience developing and maintaining event‑driven applications
- Strong hands‑on experience with:
- Java
- Spring Boot
- Experience working with the Solace eventing platform
- Proficiency with AWS technologies
- Strong understanding of:
- Software engineering principles
- Hands‑on experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools such as:
- Jenkins
- GitHub Actions
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in Agile teams
- Strong communication and coordination skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in the airline industry
- Experience with Veracode and WIZ
- Familiarity with vulnerability management and secure coding practices
- Experience using tools such as SonarQube
- Self‑starter mindset with the ability to proactively identify and resolve technical issues
