Job DescriptionTD Securities, the wholesale banking arm of TD Bank Financial Group, is hiring a
Java and Data Engineer
for its Product Control and Finance Technology Engineering Team. The role focuses on designing and implementing a next‑generation calculations, analytics, and business‑process automation platform that supports the strategic evolution of P&L and other critical financial metrics.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with development teams, business stakeholders, and project teams to solve complex data and system‑integration problems.
Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for mission‑critical applications.
Implement data products and features in partnership with business stakeholders.
Ensure data quality and operational integrity across all data sources.
Provide technical expertise to support teams in resolving escalated incidents.
Required Skills & QualificationsTechnical Skills:
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
7–12+ years of professional back‑end development experience.
Strong knowledge of Java, distributed low‑latency computing, and large‑data platforms.
Experience with Spark pipelines and cloud‑based solutions is a plus.
Deep expertise in microservices, Spring/Spring Boot;
Kubernetes experience preferred.
Proficiency in object‑oriented design, memory management, concurrency, and messaging/streaming frameworks (e.G., Spring, Kafka, Protocol Buffers).
Strong knowledge of relational SQL and NoSQL databases.
Experience with Git‑based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and modern build systems.
Comfortable with generative AI and AI‑assisted development processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
proactive mindsetwith ownership.
Business / Domain Skills:
5+ years of experience in the Capital Markets domain with an understanding of its complexities.
Experience in the financial industry preferred;
knowledge of common financial concepts is a plus.
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional partners.
