Java Developer
Location: Austin, TX or Sunnyvale, CA - Hybrid
Duration: 6 months (contract)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Java Developer to design and build high-performance, secure, distributed backend services. The ideal candidate brings deep object-oriented Java expertise, hands-on experience with large-scale messaging and data platforms, and a track record of delivering in fast-paced product engineering teams.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of proven experience in software development
- Strong object-oriented programming experience with Java
- In-depth experience with data structures, distributed systems, and storage
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful services
- In-depth experience with messaging platforms: SQS, SNS, and Kafka
- Experience in service performance profiling and optimization
- Experience designing and building PCI-DSS, PII, and SOX-compliant systems
- In-depth database experience: Cassandra, Couchbase, MongoDB, and Oracle
- Working knowledge of software security and compliance frameworks
- Familiarity with caching technologies: Redis, Hazelcast, and Memcached
- Familiarity with cloud technologies
- Experience with unit testing frameworks
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes, Gradle, Maven, and Git
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced development team
