The Opportunity
Are you an experienced Java Developer who thrives at the intersection of core application coding, cloud architecture, and modern DevOps metrics?
We are seeking four senior-level Java Developers to join our consulting engineering team on-site at a premier client account in Amsterdam. This is a pure development track role focused entirely on greenfield features and technical enhancements—not an application support position. Working directly at the client’s Scrum team level, you will be responsible for designing robust AWS cloud architectures, coding back-end infrastructure, and deploying automated CI/CD microservices within an agile framework.
Key Technical Stack & Focus Areas
1. Core Engineering & Development (Minimum 8+ Years Core Java)
- Languages: Elite-level Java programming proficiency alongside hands-on familiarity with Groovy.
- Engineering Focus: Complete end-to-end backend feature development, architectural design, and complex problem isolation.
- API Management: Enterprise-grade RESTful API development, integration, and systematic edge-case testing.
2. Cloud Architecture & Observability
- Cloud Infrastructure: Solid hands-on experience designing and mapping out application architectures within AWS environments.
- Monitoring & Telemetry: Building robust visibility layers using Grafana to monitor system health and track real-time application metrics.
3. Pipeline Automation & DevOps
- Source & Delivery: Advanced version control mastery using Git, paired with deep operational knowledge of pipeline configuration and active CI/CD management.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Direct hands-on exposure to data governance systems (such as Collibra) for job monitoring, metadata tracking, and complex bug isolation.
Position Requirements & Applicant's Profile
- Corporate Stability: A proven history of organizational dedication with a minimum of 2 consecutive years spent at each previous employer.
- Agile Collaboration: High-level English communication skills with the capability to interface directly with client-side stakeholders at the Scrum team level.
- Target Sector Backgrounds: Prior technical consulting experience or backgrounds within high-scale, transactions-heavy tech spaces (e.g., global travel marketplaces, e-commerce engines, or high-volume booking platforms) is highly valued.
Interview & Technical Evaluation Process
We run a rigorous, transparent engineering evaluation to filter for elite coders. Please ensure you are comfortable with the following cadence before applying:
- Phase 1: Screening & Assessment: Upon initial resume shortlisting, you MUST complete an online technical evaluation and coding assessment.
- Phase 2: Technical Interview Loops (2 Rounds): 1-hour live coding and scenario-based technical deep dives. You will be asked to solve 2–3 algorithmic coding problems live in an IDE or online Java compiler of your choice.
- Phase 3: Client Evaluation: A structured technical round directly with our client stakeholders.
- Phase 4: Managerial Round: Final alignment on delivery expectations, team culture, and corporate fit.
- Note: Candidates located near or within the Netherlands may be requested to attend at least one of these interview rounds face-to-face.
