Client: Our client is developing a digital tool to help sales teams demonstrate the value of Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs) to high-net-worth clients.
Project overview: The tool enables real-time portfolio analysis, transition planning, tax impact estimation, and customization based on ESG and client preferences.
It integrates with the client's internal systems and Salesforce, providing an intuitive UI, report generation, and onboarding features.
As a lead developer, you will work on building a responsive, data-driven front end and robust backend logic for portfolio modeling and strategy comparison.
Position overview: As a Java Lead Developer with AWS and Mulesoft expertise, you will lead backend development for a cutting-edge digital tool that supports sales teams in delivering personalized portfolio insights to high-net-worth clients.
You will design and implement secure, scalable APIs, integrate complex financial systems, and guide a small development team to build cloud-based, data-driven solutions aligned with business goals.
- Responsibilities: Lead the backend development team (3 people) or act as a senior developer if team leadership is not required
- Develop and maintain APIs using Java (Spring Boot), integrating with Credit Analysis Database, Portfolio Management Systems, and Salesforce
- Implement rules-based logic for portfolio transition analysis
- Handle data ingestion of lot-level holdings, cost basis, and other financial data
- Develop authentication and authorization mechanisms tied to Rep ID/Salesforce ID
- Manage report storage and retrieval with advanced search capabilities based on client or firm
- Design and maintain cloud-hosted solutions on AWS with SaaS architecture
- Ensure security with user-level access controls
- Integrate backend services using Mulesoft and other tools like Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
- Collaborate with front-end developers
- Drive cloud and DevOps best practices to support disaster recovery, SLA, and scalable architecture
- Requirements: Proven experience with Java and Spring Boot backend development
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services in a production environment
- Familiarity with Mulesoft or similar integration platforms
- Strong knowledge of API development and integration with complex financial systems
- Experience with authentication/authorization tied to Salesforce and Rep IDs
- Background in financial services or asset management domain
- Ability to lead or mentor a small development team
- Solid understanding of SaaS solutions, security models, and user access control
- Nice to have: React and front-end knowledge
- Experience with React and front-end technologies
- Familiarity with additional integration tools such as AEM
- Knowledge of portfolio management concepts and tax impact analysis
- Strong communication and leadership skills
