About the Role
As part of a replacement, we are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer to support the maintenance, evolution, and industrialization of our Java server applications and their associated technical ecosystem.
This role requires strong expertise in Java development, build management, CI/CD processes, Linux environments, and application packaging. The successful candidate will be able to work autonomously on critical technical topics while contributing to the continuous improvement of development and deployment practices.
Key Responsibilities
Software Design & Development
Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications.
Develop, maintain, and enhance Java-based server applications.
Design scalable, maintainable, and high-performance software solutions.
Apply object-oriented programming principles and software design patterns.
Code Quality & Best Practices
Perform testing, debugging, and issue resolution.
Ensure code quality, maintainability, performance, and reliability.
Participate in code reviews and promote development best practices.
Contribute to the definition and enforcement of development standards.
Build, CI/CD & Automation
Maintain and enhance Maven build systems.
Manage dependencies, plugins, and build configurations.
Ensure build reproducibility and reliability.
Maintain and improve Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
Support and optimize continuous integration and deployment processes.
Infrastructure & Environment Management
Maintain and support Linux and WSL2 environments.
Manage containerized environments using Docker and Docker Compose.
Support development environments, including VS Code and Dev Containers.
Contribute to future infrastructure evolution, including Kubernetes adoption.
Packaging & Deployment
Develop and maintain Bash installation and deployment scripts.
Manage Linux-based appliance environments, ideally Red Hat.
Integrate security requirements and best practices, including SELinux.
Technical Support & Continuous Improvement
Investigate and resolve complex technical issues.
Produce and maintain technical documentation.
Share knowledge and provide support to internal teams when needed.
Contribute to ongoing improvements of tools, processes, and technical practices.
Conduct technical feasibility studies and technology assessments.
Collaboration
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Architecture, Security, Operations, and Support.
Share technical expertise and contribute to mentoring activities.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in software development.
Proven experience in Java backend development within complex technical environments.
Hands-on experience with software industrialization and CI/CD practices.
Advanced knowledge of Maven.
Strong experience with Java (Java 8 to Java 25).
Good knowledge of Linux administration and troubleshooting.
Experience with Jenkins, Docker administration and usage, Intermediate Bash scripting skills, PostgreSQL 16+.
Ability to work autonomously on critical technical topics.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and international environment.
