Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a Java Developer to build, enhance, and support scalable enterprise applications and microservices. The role focuses on Core Java, multithreading, database design, SQL, and Spring Boot to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performing solutions.
Software Requirements
Required:
Java 11+; Java 17 preferred
Spring Boot 2.x/3.x and Spring Framework
SQL and relational databases
RESTful APIs and microservices
Git, Maven or Gradle
JUnit and Mockito
CI/CD practices
Familiarity with Agile delivery
Preferred:
Apache Kafka
Docker and Kubernetes
Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
OpenAPI/Swagger and application monitoring tools
Overall Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain Java applications and microservices.
Databases/Data Management: Essential: Relational database design, data modeling, joins, indexes, transactions, stored procedures, and query optimization. Preferred: NoSQL, partitioning, replication, and execution-plan analysis.
Cloud Technologies: Essential: Understanding of application deployment and configuration environments. Preferred: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Docker, or Kubernetes.
Frameworks and Libraries: Essential: Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security, JUnit, Mockito, and Hibernate/JPA. Preferred: Kafka, Spring Cloud, WebFlux, OpenAPI, and resilience frameworks.
Development Tools and Methodologies: Essential: Git, Maven/Gradle, CI/CD, Agile, code reviews, testing, debugging, and documentation. Preferred: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, SonarQube, centralized logging, and distributed tracing.
Security Protocols: Essential: HTTPS/TLS, secure API development, authentication, authorization, input validation, and secure handling of credentials. Preferred: OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and security scanning tools.
Experience Requirements
Typically 3–7 years of professional Java development experience.
Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, multithreading, SQL, and relational databases.
Experience with testing, Git, code reviews, CI/CD, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
Experience in financial services or another regulated industry is preferred.
Equivalent experience, technical training, or demonstrable software projects may be considered in place of formal qualifications.
Day-to-Day Activities
Review requirements and technical designs.
Develop Java and Spring Boot features and APIs.
Create tests and optimize SQL queries and application performance.
Participate in team meetings, code reviews, sprint activities, and design discussions.
Investigate defects and production issues.
Collaborate with architecture, quality assurance, deployment, and business teams.
Maintain technical documentation and support release activities.
Make implementation decisions within approved architecture, security, and delivery standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Java, Spring, cloud, database, or security certifications are preferred but not required.
Completion of Synechron security, compliance, and role-specific training is required.
Ongoing learning in Java, Spring Boot, databases, cloud, security, and software engineering is expected.
