Java Developer / Java Architect

Location: Brussels, Belgium
Work Model: Hybrid (1 day onsite per week)

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer / Java Architect with 10+ years of experience to join a dynamic team in Brussels. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in modern Java development, microservices architecture, and enterprise application integration while working in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable enterprise applications using Java 8+ and Spring Boot.
• Build and maintain Microservices, RESTful APIs, SOAP/Web Services, and messaging solutions.
• Design system architectures that integrate enterprise applications efficiently.
• Modernize legacy applications into distributed microservices architectures.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and support Azure DevOps practices.
• Ensure high availability, security, performance, and fault tolerance across applications.
• Provide end-to-end ownership from development through post-production support.
• Conduct architectural reviews and mentor development teams.
• Collaborate directly with customers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of Java development experience.
• Strong expertise in Java 8+, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Experience with REST, SOAP, and enterprise integration.
• Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline experience.
• Git, Maven, Jenkins, Docker, Eclipse and/or IntelliJ IDEA.
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures and messaging technologies (Kafka is an advantage).
• Strong Agile experience and analytical/problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with customer-facing experience.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
