Java Developer / Java Architect
Location: Brussels, Belgium
Work Model: Hybrid (1 day onsite per week)

Contract Duration: 6 Months
We are looking for an experienced Java Developer / Java Architect with 10+ years of experience to join a dynamic team in Brussels. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in modern Java development, microservices architecture, and enterprise application integration while working in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable enterprise applications using Java 8+ and Spring Boot.
- Build and maintain Microservices, RESTful APIs, SOAP/Web Services, and messaging solutions.
- Design system architectures that integrate enterprise applications efficiently.
- Modernize legacy applications into distributed microservices architectures.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and support Azure DevOps practices.
- Ensure high availability, security, performance, and fault tolerance across applications.
- Provide end-to-end ownership from development through post-production support.
- Conduct architectural reviews and mentor development teams.
- Collaborate directly with customers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Required Skills
- 10+ years of Java development experience.
- Strong expertise in Java 8+, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
- Experience with REST, SOAP, and enterprise integration.
- Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline experience.
- Git, Maven, Jenkins, Docker, Eclipse and/or IntelliJ IDEA.
- Knowledge of event-driven architectures and messaging technologies (Kafka is an advantage).
- Strong Agile experience and analytical/problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with customer-facing experience.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
