Java Developer / Java Architect

Location: Brussels, Belgium
Work Model: Hybrid (1 day onsite per week)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 6 Months

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer / Java Architect with 10+ years of experience to join a dynamic team in Brussels. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in modern Java development, microservices architecture, and enterprise application integration while working in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable enterprise applications using Java 8+ and Spring Boot.
Build and maintain Microservices, RESTful APIs, SOAP/Web Services, and messaging solutions.
Design system architectures that integrate enterprise applications efficiently.
Modernize legacy applications into distributed microservices architectures.
Implement CI/CD pipelines and support Azure DevOps practices.
Ensure high availability, security, performance, and fault tolerance across applications.
Provide end-to-end ownership from development through post-production support.
Conduct architectural reviews and mentor development teams.
Collaborate directly with customers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Required Skills

10+ years of Java development experience.
Strong expertise in Java 8+, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
Experience with REST, SOAP, and enterprise integration.
Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline experience.
Git, Maven, Jenkins, Docker, Eclipse and/or IntelliJ IDEA.
Knowledge of event-driven architectures and messaging technologies (Kafka is an advantage).
Strong Agile experience and analytical/problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills with customer-facing experience.
Fluent written and spoken English.
