Java Developer (Java 7 or Java 8)

The role
You’ll join an established engineering team working on core legacy Java applications . Expect a mix of:
- Enhancements to existing functionality (not greenfield)
- Bug fixing and production support with sensible engineering standards
- Refactoring where it adds real value (performance, reliability, maintainability)
- Working closely with stakeholders to deliver safe, well‑tested changes
What we’re looking for
- Strong commercial experience with Java 7 and/or Java 8
- Comfortable in legacy / mature codebases (you don’t need the “latest stack” to do great work)
- Practical approach to debugging, fixing, and improving existing systems
- Experience with relational databases and backend integration work (APIs, services, batch jobs, etc.)
- Someone who values stability, clean code, and shipping reliable changes
