Job Summary:
The Production Support Java Developer plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing core business systems to ensure reliability, efficiency, and uptime. This role focuses on diagnosing production issues, deploying patches, and supporting a variety of applications including legacy client-server reengineering and online member services. The developer works collaboratively within a dedicated support team, leveraging modern DevOps practices to maintain and optimize full application stacks.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure system uptime and reliability by promptly diagnosing and resolving production issues.
- Deploy critical patches and enhancements to production systems.
- Maintain and optimize applications across the full stack including front-end, back-end, and database layers.
- Write and maintain automated test scripts to prevent regressions.
- Tweak user interfaces and manage application flow.
- Tune database queries, fix APIs, and ensure data integrity.
- Collaborate with technical peers, business leaders, and technical leads to support and improve systems.
- Follow modern DevOps methodologies and utilize tools such as Atlassian Jira for issue tracking and deployment.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a Java Developer.
- At least 3 years developing Java web applications or web services.
- Expert-level hands-on knowledge of Java 17+, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Spring Security.
- Proficiency with Oracle databases and SQL.
- Experience with Apache Tomcat, JSP, JavaScript, jQuery, and Bootstrap.
- Familiarity with Git/Github and Maven for version control and build management.
- Understanding of secure software development practices and vulnerability remediation.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle, preferably Agile Scrum methodology.
- Bachelor's degree in Software Development, Information Technology, or related field highly desired.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and Test Driven Development (TDD), including Cucumber.
- Familiarity with Spring Batch, Spring Integration, MyBatis, and Filenet.
- Knowledge of code quality tools and security processes.
- Experience with Jasper Reports and Selenium automated testing.
- Exposure to Atlassian JIRA and Confluence for project management and documentation.
- Participation in continued education and professional development.
