Java Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) High-Level JD (Summary)
The Java Technical SME is the ultimate technical escalation point and hands-on "Strike Team" lead for the Java language pod. This is a heavy Backend Coding and Refactoring role responsible for tackling the most complex "XXL" deadlocks, classpath version mismatches, and critical API breaking changes in large-scale
Java codebases. The SME intervenes when automated tools or standard engineers fail, ensuring that the repository remains stable during complex library integrations and framework migrations.
Detailed JD & Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
Hands-On Hardcore Refactoring: Jump into complex, tangled Java codebase situations (such as legacy dependency conflicts or strict compilation failures) and rewrite backend application logic to support
new library versions and Java runtimes.
Resolving Diamond Dependencies: Deeply analyze hierarchical Maven/Gradle dependency trees (POM trees) to resolve version lockups where child libraries hold parent upgrades hostage.
Custom Patching Management: Lead the effort in debugging and merging historical custom patches against modern, clean upstream updates.
Architectural Conversions: Execute complex package layout conversions and manage formal exception filings when in-place upgrades are impossible.
Build System Optimization: Resolve deep build system issues involving complex classloaders, annotation processing, and compilation flags.
