Job Title: Senior Backend Java / AWS Developer
Location: Plano, TX or McLean, VA (Hybrid 2 to 3 days per week onsite)
Duration: 7-Month Contract (with a strong possibility of extension based on performance)
Key Responsibilities
- Core Backend Development: Design, develop, and deploy high-performance backend microservices and application engines using Core Java (70%+ of the daily workload; no UI development required).
- Business Engine Automation: Write clean, modular code to influence complex business processes, translate business requirements into programmatic logic, and configure custom business rules tables (e.g., Camunda DFI/DFRA).
- Cloud Ingestion & Orchestration: Build and support scalable, cloud-native event streams utilizing AWS Lambdas and AWS Fargate containers.
- Platform Stability & Optimization: Monitor application health, troubleshoot backend execution issues, identify root causes, and optimize performance under high transactional volumes.
- Agile Integration: Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, and backlog refinement. Use internal custom automated tools to maintain code compliance and delivery timelines.
Required Qualifications & Technical Stack
- Java Mastery: 7+ years of deep Core Java development experience, including object-oriented design patterns, multi-threading, and backend service construction.
- AWS Cloud-Native Scale: Proven hands-on experience utilizing serverless cloud components, specifically AWS Lambdas and AWS Fargate for container orchestration.
- Business Rules Logic: Direct experience working on or building business rule applications, workflow engines, or enterprise process calculators.
- DevOps & Infrastructure: Solid proficiency with Docker containerization, Git version control, and automated CI/CD deployment pipelines (e.g., Jenkins).
- Data Integration: Comfortable integrating backend logic with modern cloud data systems (e.g., Snowflake, relational databases) and application monitoring suites (Splunk).
- Soft Skills: Outstanding professional communication habits, an independent working style, and the ability to articulate technical ideas clearly to technical panels.
- Process Engines: Exposure to decision-table frameworks.
Interview Process
- Single Round Panel: A 1-round technical panel interview with the team leads and hiring manager. No live coding exercises required; the evaluation will focus strictly on system design, technical depth, past project execution, and communication.
