We are seeking an experienced Java Developer to support the design, development, testing, debugging, and maintenance of large-scale applications. The role involves SQL database work, Linux-based troubleshooting, performance tuning, documentation, and coordination with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee coding, testing, debugging, and test data preparation.

Develop flowcharts, diagrams, instructions, manuals, and technical documentation.

Analyze requirements, application changes, and new project proposals.

Evaluate database schemas, write and run SQL, deploy packages/triggers, and improve performance.

Troubleshoot application issues using logs, system messages, memory, disk, and connectivity analysis.

Coordinate work, track progress, and help define standards and procedures.

Create and maintain backup and restore processes to support business continuity.
Required Skills
-
15+ years of Java experience.
-
10+ years of SQL database experience.
-
8+ years supporting large applications in a team environment.

5+ years of Linux experience.
Preferred Skills
-
8+ Atlassian tool suite, especially Jira.

8+ Agile methodology experience.
-
2+ Experience with State of Texas or Texas Department of Public Safety applications.

2+Experience modernizing legacy mainframe applications into Java/SQL environments.
