Senior Java Developer
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance applications and backend services. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, SQL, and Python, along with a solid understanding of modern software development practices and distributed systems.
The Senior Java Developer will work closely with architects, product owners, business stakeholders, and other engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-level applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build scalable RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot and related Spring technologies.
- Design and implement event-driven applications and data pipelines using Apache Kafka.
- Develop efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, and database integrations.
- Troubleshoot and optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Use Python for automation, scripting, data processing, and supporting application services as needed.
- Participate in architecture and technical design discussions.
- Conduct code reviews and promote development standards, clean code, and best practices.
- Develop automated unit and integration tests to ensure application quality.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to support CI/CD, deployments, monitoring, and production troubleshooting.
- Analyze complex technical issues and provide effective, scalable solutions.
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience developing REST APIs and microservices.
- Strong knowledge of Apache Kafka, including producers, consumers, topics, partitions, and event-driven architecture.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
- Working experience with Python for scripting, automation, or application development.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software engineering principles.
- Experience with Git and modern source-control practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and work effectively in a collaborative Agile environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
- Experience with NoSQL databases.
- Experience with distributed systems and high-volume data processing.
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
