Hybrid working:

The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality, scalable application solutions that meet business and customer needs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into effective outcomes.
Contribute to the design and implementation of new features and enhancements.
Ensure solutions are reliable, responsive, maintainable, and aligned with quality standards.
Produce clean, well-structured, and reusable code that supports long-term sustainability.
Participate in peer reviews and actively contribute to team knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues efficiently to minimise disruption and maintain service quality.
Identify opportunities to improve development processes, team productivity, and local development practices.
Bring innovative thinking to technical challenges and contribute ideas that enhance delivery outcomes.
Stay current with industry trends, emerging practices, and AI-enabled ways of working to support a future-ready workforce.

Must-Have Skills

Experience designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade Java applications.
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and software engineering best practices.
Ability to interpret requirements and low-level designs and translate them into high-quality solutions.
Experience working effectively within a collaborative development team environment.
Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
Understanding of coding standards, code quality principles, and secure development practices.
Experience writing and executing unit tests to validate solution quality.
Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse and resolve technical issues effectively.
Commitment to continuous learning, innovation, and adopting new ways of working.
Awareness of AI-assisted delivery approaches and their application within the software development lifecycle.

Good-to-Have Skills

Experience with Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
Exposure to SOAP and REST-based service development.
Familiarity with API-led integration approaches.
Knowledge of modern application architecture patterns.
Understanding of agile delivery methodologies.
Experience contributing to code reviews and development best practices.
Relevant Java or cloud-related certifications.
Exposure to Financial Services industry projects or regulated environments.
