Job Title: Java Developer - Mid-Level

Job Description:
As a Java Developer, you will work with business and technology teams to design, develop, and support scalable enterprise applications and services. You will contribute to solution architecture, application development, cloud-based platforms, and AI-assisted software engineering practices while supporting modernization and high-volume transactional systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and web services.
- Gather and analyze business and technical requirements to develop effective solutions.
- Develop proof-of-concepts and validate technology solutions.
- Create technical specifications, architectural diagrams, and design documentation.
- Develop automated test scripts and support quality assurance initiatives.
- Participate in architecture, design, and strategic planning discussions.
- Support production and test environments and troubleshoot application issues.
- Review changes across environments and identify potential impacts and risks.
- Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor junior team members and promote development best practices.
Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:
- 3+ years of experience with Java, Spring Framework, REST/SOAP web services, and cloud-based application development.
- Hands-on experience using GenAI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar tools throughout the SDLC.
- 2+ years of experience with ETL processes, data pipelines, and messaging frameworks.
- 1+ years of experience with CI/CD tools such as Bamboo, Bitbucket, Git, or similar platforms.
- 1+ years of experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or PCF.
- 1+ years of experience working with distributed databases such as MongoDB, Aerospike, Yugabyte, or PostgreSQL.
- Experience creating technical documentation, architecture diagrams, functional specifications, and automated testing processes.
- Strong understanding of AI-assisted development, prompt engineering, agentic workflows, and spec-driven development practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, RabbitMQ, Atlassian tools, .NET/C#, Test-Driven Development, modernization initiatives, or financial services environments preferred.
The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
