Position Overview
seeking an experienced Developer/Programmer Analyst III (Senior Java Developer) to support the development, enhancement, maintenance, and modernization of enterprise applications. The selected consultant will lead software development initiatives, analyze complex technical requirements, optimize application performance, and support migration of legacy systems into modern Java and SQL-based environments.
This role requires extensive experience with Java, SQL databases, Linux, Agile methodologies, and enterprise application development in large team environments. Candidates with previous DPS experience will be highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, testing, debugging, and deployment of enterprise Java applications.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize large-scale business applications supporting DPS operations.
- Analyze technical and functional requirements and translate them into scalable software solutions.
- Design application flowcharts, technical documentation, and system diagrams.
- Develop and execute SQL queries, stored procedures, packages, and database triggers.
- Evaluate database schemas and optimize database performance.
- Troubleshoot application issues by analyzing logs, thread connectivity, memory utilization, and system performance.
- Coordinate software development activities across multiple development teams.
- Develop technical standards, coding guidelines, and best practices.
- Create backup and recovery procedures to ensure application continuity.
- Participate in Agile planning sessions, sprint reviews, and backlog grooming.
- Recommend and implement system improvements to enhance application performance and reliability.
- Support modernization initiatives involving migration from legacy mainframe applications to Java/SQL platforms.
- Mentor junior developers and coordinate development activities.
- Prepare technical documentation, user manuals, and deployment procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of Java application development experience.
- 10+ years of SQL database development experience.
- 8+ years supporting large enterprise applications within collaborative development teams.
- 5+ years working in Linux environments.

- Experience migrating legacy mainframe applications to modern Java/SQL platforms.
