Sr Java Developer (with Python, AWS and Terraform)
This is with a global IT services firm for a leading investment/wealth management services firm.
Client Location is downtown Toronto Ontario, close to TTC and GO service.
Hybrid - In Office 4 days per week.
Contract - 6 months, possible renewal
Target rate range: $65-90hr B2B
Project Description
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in Java and AWS to join our technology team. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in software development and architecture, with a keen ability to design and analyze complex systems. Ideally with a mix of Java, Python and AWS. A background in capital markets is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable applications using Java and AWS services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and architect effective solutions.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code with a focus on performance and maintainability.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in software development and cloud technologies.
Mandatory / Must Have Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and AWS, Terraform technologies.
- Working knowledge of Python.
- Experience with AI & ML.
- Proven expertise in software design and system analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to write high-quality, maintainable code.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Capital Markets domain knowledge
- Trading / Portfolio Management experience is preferred.
