Junior Java Developer / QA Automation Developer NC FAST

Project: NC FAST / Curam Application
NC DHHS is seeking a Junior Java Developer to support the development, testing, and implementation of NC FAST / Curam applications. This role combines Java development with strong manual and automated testing responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Write detailed manual test scripts and perform functional/manual application testing.
- Develop and execute automated test scripts using TOSCA.
- Create and execute JUnit and JMockit test scripts for developer/unit testing.
- Assist senior developers with designing, developing, testing, and debugging Java applications.
- Develop clean, efficient, testable, and well-documented Java code.
- Support development and maintenance of Curam application features.
- Debug and resolve application defects to ensure stability and quality.
- Participate in code reviews and implement feedback to improve code quality.
- Work with SQL databases and integrate database changes into applications.
- Collaborate with senior developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to understand requirements.
- Follow SDLC and Agile development and testing best practices.
- Maintain technical documentation and contribute to continuous process improvement.
- Use development tools such as Eclipse, Git, and RSA.
- Support testing activities using tools such as Q-Test and NeoLoad where applicable.
- Stay current with Java development, testing, and automation technologies.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of Java fundamentals and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
- Hands-on experience writing and executing manual test scripts.
- Experience developing and executing automated tests using TOSCA.
- Experience with JUnit and JMockit unit testing.
- Knowledge of Curam applications.
- Experience with SQL, Eclipse, Git, RSA, SDLC, data structures, and algorithms.
- Strong debugging, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Q-Test, NeoLoad, Agile methodologies, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Spring Framework, and Hibernate is preferred.
