Job Overview
Responsibilities
Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements
Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards
Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals
Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions
Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary
Preferred Skills
Experience with Jasper Reports or similar reporting platforms.
Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
Knowledge of the payments industry and associated regulatory frameworks.
Responsibilities
Design & Development: Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable Java-based microservices and APIs for Citi's integral instant payments platform, ensuring seamless real-time transaction processing.
Database Management: Utilize MongoDB and MongoDB Atlas expertise to design and manage efficient data storage and retrieval solutions for instant payments processing.
Data Streaming & Messaging: Implement Kafka and message queues to enable real-time data processing and communication within the instant payments ecosystem.
Collaboration & Testing: Work closely with tech leads and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Conduct thorough unit and system testing to ensure code quality and reliability.
Agile Development: Thrive in an Agile environment, actively participating in sprints, backlog grooming, and continuous improvement efforts.
Security & Compliance: Perform threat and risk assessments, implement security best practices, and ensure adherence to regulatory compliance standards specific to the payments industry.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Write clear technical documentation and actively contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
Qualifications
8+ years of hands‐on Java development experience, with proficiency in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and related frameworks.
Experience designing, developing, and deploying microservices architectures.
Expertise in MongoDB and MongoDB Atlas, including data modeling and performance tuning.
Hands‐on experience with Kafka or other message queue technologies for building event‐driven systems.
Proficiency in SQL and experience with Oracle database management.
Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools like Jira.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills.
Passion for learning and staying up‐to‐date with the latest technologies in the payments industry.
Education
Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Master's degree preferred
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
