We are looking for a passionate Senior Java Engineer / Architect with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot and modern microservice architectures. You will drive the technical design of a strategic insurance project, provide architectural leadership, and collaborate with international teams to deliver scalable and high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Analyze and assess the implementation of a challenging project in Insurance area in Switzerland
• Design, define, and continuously evolve the architecture of the project for the Swiss market
• Specify and define local adaptations, customizations, and extensions
• Provide technical leadership, coaching, and guidance to development teams
• Collaborate and coordinate with stakeholders and international teams
• Ensure software quality through code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing.

Qualifications and Skills

• About 10+ years of experience as a Lead Developer or Senior Developer
• Strong expertise in Java (Java 17+/21), Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Kafka
• Hands-on experience with Microservices, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Event-Driven Architecture (EDA), and cloud technologies (Azure/AWS)
• Proven experience working with international and distributed teams
• Solid knowledge of Insurance or Financial Servies Domain is highly desirable
• Excellent English communication skills; German language skills are considered an advantage

Location and Work Flexibility

• Please note that a fully remote work policy is not offered for this role
• Candidates should be prepared to relocate to Zürich (Switzerland)
• Work-from-home days may be possible according to the Client's policy
