Senior Java Full Stack Developer (FICC) (Contract)
Start Date: August 2026
Duration: 3-6 Months (likely extensions)
Day Rate: £650 (Negotiable)
IR35 Status: Outside IR35
Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite minimum)
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java-based applications within a Front Office and Trading environment.
- Contribute across multiple workstreams, delivering scalable and resilient solutions for Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities (FICC) business areas.
- Build and enhance full stack applications using modern Java technologies and frontend frameworks.
- Work closely with traders, quants, business analysts, and product owners to deliver business-critical functionality.
- Develop and integrate APIs, microservices, and event-driven applications.
- Participate in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, and solution planning.
- Ensure applications meet performance, reliability, and security requirements.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and promote engineering best practices across development teams.
- Collaborate with distributed teams in an agile delivery environment.
Key Skills & Experience
Java Full Stack Development
- Extensive commercial experience as a Senior Java Full Stack Developer.
- Strong backend development experience with Java (Java 11+ preferred).
- Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, RESTful APIs, and Microservices Architecture.
- Experience working with SQL databases and data-intensive applications.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies, containerisation, and CI/CD tooling.
- Proven experience working within Investment Banking or Capital Markets environments.
- Strong understanding of FICC (Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities) products and trading workflows.
- Experience delivering technology solutions supporting trading, risk, pricing, market data, or post-trade functions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Front Office stakeholders and business users.
