Java Full Stack Developer

We're looking for an experienced Java Full Stack Developer with strong Angular and Spring Boot expertise to join a delivery team at a major Canadian bank in Toronto. The ideal candidate brings end-to-end application development experience across modern frontend and backend technologies and is comfortable working in a fast-paced banking environment.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications using Angular, Node.js, Core Java, Spring, and Spring Boot
• Build and integrate RESTful and SOAP web services within a microservices architecture
• Develop frontend components using Angular, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSP
• Implement ORM-based data persistence using Hibernate
• Work with relational and non-relational databases including SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, and DB2
• Support DevOps workflows using GitHub, Jenkins, and deployment to PCF or OCP environments
• Work across IDEs such as RAD, IntelliJ, or STS with application servers including WebSphere, Tomcat, and JBoss
• Contribute across the complete application development lifecycle from requirements through to deployment
• Write and maintain unit tests using JUnit

What you bring

• 6 to 8+ years of full stack development experience across both frontend and backend technologies
• Strong hands-on experience with Core Java, Spring, Spring Boot, REST APIs, SOAP, and microservices
• Solid frontend experience with Angular, Node.js, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSP
• Good working knowledge of Hibernate as an ORM tool
• Experience with GitHub for source control management and Jenkins for DevOps automation
• Working experience with PCF or OCP deployment environments
• Solid database experience across SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, and DB2
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Eligibility for a mandatory background check

Nice to have

• Prior experience in banking or financial services application development
• Familiarity with additional application servers such as Apache or JBoss
• Experience working in regulated delivery environments with strict governance standards

Work setup

• Onsite in Toronto, ON, 4 days per week
• In-person interview required
• 6 month contract
• English proficiency required
