Join Canada's largest IT company as a “Java Full Stack Development Lead” in our Banking Services Division. We are Canada's largest independent information technology services firm and after 45 years, we are still growing. Location – Downtown Toronto (Hybrid – 3 days office, 2 days remote). Your Future Duties and Responsibilities
Lead and implement initiatives to deliver business objectives. Decompose business requirements and translate them into detailed design specifications and code. Design solutions, write code, perform unit testing, develop appropriate artefacts/documentation, and facilitate final delivery. Assess impact of design decisions on the product/service (performance, schedule, budget, downstream component/system impact, quality, etc.) and recommend alternate or creative solutions for mitigation or optimization. Drive meetings with subject‑matter experts from business, infrastructure, operations, applications, vendors, and leads to seek input, plan and coordinate development, define requirements and timelines; monitor and track performance and address issues. Build solutions that are supportable, scalable and achieve our aspiration of common assets. Recommend or automate approaches to streamline and integrate technological processes or systems to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. Stay abreast of industry technical and business trends through participation in professional associations, practice communities and individual learning. Spend 60‑70 % of the time playing a lead role and 30‑40 % on development activities. Act as the interface between business and technology. Required Qualifications to Be Successful in This Role
9+ years of Java full‑stack development hands‑on experience and have managed a team of developers in an on‑shore / offshore model. Skills: Angular (minimum 12 to latest 18), Java (1.8 minimum) and AWS, Lambda experience required. Compensation: Reasonable pay range estimate $95,000–$145,000 (salary depends on skills, location, experience, training, licences and certifications). This role is an existing vacancy. Nice to Have Skills
Spring Boot, Node.js, CDK and Fargate. Other tools/technologies/frameworks: APIs, REST/JSON, SOAP/XML, Swagger, OpenAPI, microservices architecture, Kafka, Redux, OAuth. Experience with cloud services and DevOps concepts: OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes, Artifactory, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Ansible, GitHub. Comfortable working in an Agile/SCRUM setting; ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing priorities. AWS Developer and AWS Architect Professional Certification desired.
