Our Client is seeking experienced Senior Software Developers to support the design, development, integration, testing, and implementation of complex enterprise applications.
The successful candidates will bring extensive experience developing large-scale, multi-tier systems across multiple platforms and will provide technical leadership throughout the complete software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities - Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather, assess, and document technical and business requirements.
- Develop conceptual, logical, and physical solution architecture and design artifacts.
- Support architecture checkpoints, technical reviews, and solution design walkthroughs.
- Design, develop, code, integrate, and implement enterprise-level application components.
- Build and integrate REST APIs, SOAP/WSDL web services, JSON/XML messaging solutions, user interfaces, and third-party services.
- Develop unit and integration test cases and perform comprehensive system testing.
- Collaborate with testing teams on functional, performance, security, and vulnerability testing.
- Debug, refactor, optimize, and enhance existing application components.
- Identify and coordinate the resolution of technical issues, production incidents, and system defects.
- Prepare technical documentation, user guides, deployment instructions, and knowledge-transfer materials.
- Lead code reviews, design walkthroughs, and technical knowledge-transfer sessions.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to developers, systems analysts, testers, and external consultants.
- Estimate development effort, manage technical deliverables, and ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Support multiple concurrent assignments while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
Mandatory Qualifications - Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience in IT systems analysis, design, development, integration, testing, and implementation.
- Extensive experience working in multi-platform environments, including web, desktop, mobile, mainframe, micro/mini systems, and multi-tier enterprise applications.
- Advanced experience with Java and enterprise technologies, including:

- Struts Framework
- Strong experience developing and integrating:
- REST APIs

- Extensive experience with Oracle RDBMS, including Oracle versions 9, 10, 11, and/or 12, as well as PL/SQL development.

- Strong knowledge of source-code management, application packaging, release management, and deployment tools.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing, designing, coding, and integrating full-stack, multi-tier enterprise solutions.
- Proven experience debugging, refactoring, optimizing, and improving complex systems.
- Ability to assess client requirements, research technical alternatives, develop recommendations, and lead solution-design initiatives.
Technical Leadership - Demonstrated experience leading development teams in the delivery of enterprise-level IT solutions.
- Ability to conduct solution-design reviews, code walkthroughs, and technical quality assessments.
- Experience providing leadership and direction to developers, analysts, testers, and consultants.
- Strong knowledge of project-management methodologies, work estimation, analytical processes, and ITIL best practices.
- Proven ability to lead complex IT projects and deliver within established timelines, scope, quality, and budget parameters.
Communication and Stakeholder Management - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience preparing technical reports, design documents, architecture artifacts, implementation guides, and user documentation.
- Strong consulting, negotiation, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage relationships with internal teams, external stakeholders, and service-delivery partners.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet demanding project deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
Public-Sector Experience - Previous Ontario Public Service or broader Canadian public-sector experience is considered an asset.
- Understanding of government strategies, directives, policies, procedures, and technology standards.
- Knowledge of public-sector architecture-review processes, security requirements, privacy standards, and architecture checkpoints.
