Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Java Performance Backend Developer with strong expertise in enterprise backend engineering, distributed systems, scalable API development, and Capital Markets post-trade platforms.

This role focuses on developing and enhancing a strategic Trade Confirmations Platform supporting OTC Derivatives and FX post-trade operations. The ideal candidate will possess deep hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, distributed systems, and scalable data processing while also having exposure to modern frontend technologies and user-centric application development.

The candidate will play a key role in building high-performance confirmation processing solutions supporting e-Signature, SWIFT, and other electronic confirmation channels while ensuring operational excellence, scalability, regulatory compliance, and system resiliency.

This position also encourages leveraging Agentic AI tools and AI-assisted engineering practices to accelerate software delivery and modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Backend Development & Distributed Systems

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using:

  • Java

  • Spring Boot

  • RESTful APIs

  • Microservices Architecture

• Build high-performance distributed systems supporting Capital Markets post-trade workflows

• Develop scalable event-driven integration solutions leveraging:

  • Kafka

  • Messaging systems

  • Enterprise integration patterns

Trade Confirmations Platform Engineering

• Enhance and support Trade Confirmations platforms for:

  • OTC Derivatives

  • FX products

  • Electronic confirmation workflows

• Build high-performance components supporting:

  • e-Signature platforms

  • SWIFT messaging

  • Electronic confirmation channels

• Ensure scalability, resiliency, reconciliation, and operational continuity across enterprise post-trade systems

Frontend & Full Stack Collaboration

• Collaborate with frontend teams building responsive and user-centric applications using:

  • React

  • Angular

  • JavaScript / TypeScript

  • Node.js

• Support API integrations and seamless communication between frontend and backend platforms

• Contribute to scalable, responsive, and high-performance application architecture

Performance Engineering & Scalability

• Optimize backend services and APIs for:

  • High throughput

  • Low latency

  • Scalability

  • Reliability

• Support caching strategies, distributed processing, and performance tuning initiatives

• Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks across distributed systems

AI-Assisted Engineering & Automation

• Leverage Agentic AI tools and AI-assisted development practices to improve engineering productivity

• Contribute to automation, modernization, and intelligent workflow initiatives

• Support AI-driven SDLC acceleration and engineering best practices

Risk, Compliance & Operational Excellence

• Ensure systems comply with:

  • Regulatory standards

  • Operational controls

  • Risk management frameworks

• Support production stability, monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolution

• Collaborate with Operations, Compliance, Finance, and Engineering teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions

Required Qualifications

• 8+ to 10+ years of overall IT experience

• Strong hands-on expertise with:

  • Java

  • Spring Boot

  • RESTful APIs

  • Microservices Architecture

• Experience with:

  • Distributed systems

  • Event-driven architectures

  • Scalable data processing

  • Backend API development

• Frontend technology exposure including:

  • React

  • Angular

• Experience building enterprise-grade backend systems and scalable APIs

• Strong understanding of Capital Markets or Investment Banking environments preferred
