- Candidate must work Sunnyvale / San Jose CA site In-Person
- Required to be ON-SITE as needed to support FAB
- Experience: 5+ Years in Java development, Manufacturing / FAB background
- MUST have prior written approval from Nokia to work overtime (8 hours per day / 40 hours week)
Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and proactive Java Developer to join our team on a contract basis. This role requires strong technical expertise in Java development and the proven ability to lead and guide offshore development teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java, JavaScript and Java Servlet technologies, experience with web services, and a solid understanding of the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architectural pattern.
This is a 1-year contract position, with the potential for extension for an additional year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance Java applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features and enhancements.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following established best practices and coding standards.
- Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure code quality and consistency.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to an offshore development team, ensuring alignment with project goals and timely delivery of tasks.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Implement and enhance front-end user interfaces using JavaScript and the ExtJS framework.
- Develop and consume web services (SOAP/REST) to integrate various systems and components.
- Manage and optimize database interactions with Oracle 19c.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural discussions.
- Utilize the Eclipse IDE for development and deploy applications on Tomcat servers.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Extensive experience with Java Servlets and JSP for server-side & UI development.
- Proficiency in front-end development using JavaScript and the ExtJS framework.
- Experience with developing and consuming Web Services (SOAP/REST).
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket, SVN, Perforce).
- Databases: Hands-on experience with Oracle 19c, including writing SQL queries and Stored Procedures.
- Application Servers: Experience with deployment and configuration on Tomcat servers, Jenkins for build/release.
- Development Tools: Proficient in using Eclipse IDE, creating separate workspaces.
- Architectural Patterns: Solid understanding and practical application of the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architectural pattern.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Communication: Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
