Senior Java Software Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Software Engineer to join our Content Platform Engineering team, focusing on building and enhancing platform capabilities with a strong emphasis on computer vision and machine learning workflows. We develop and manage a diverse suite of products and services that power Disney’s media supply chain, enabling content delivery for iconic brands like Disney+, ESPN+, Hulu, ABC, Marvel, and Star Wars.
The Senior Java Software Engineer will be responsible for:
- Write and maintain software solutions: Design, write, test, and deploy high-quality code to develop reliable, maintainable software solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with platform engineers, product teams, and data scientists to ensure technical solutions effectively support business goals and content strategies.
- Production support: Monitor and optimize production systems, ensuring platform stability, performance, and uptime.
- Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
What we need from you:
- 4+ years of software engineering experience, with significant expertise in Java.
- Advanced English level.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and scalable backend systems.
- Experience designing and developing REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
- Experience building cloud-native applications on AWS.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD, testing strategies, and software engineering best practices.
- Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures (Kafka, SNS, SQS).
- Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, and ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
- Experience with Python, media technology, computer vision, or machine learning is a plus.
