Senior Software Engineer (Java / AI-Enabled) Rocket Financial builds innovative fintech products that improve how money moves globally. We work across multiple high-impact fintech projects, tackling complex problems in payments, infrastructure, and financial services. We are a U. S.-based company hiring an international contractor located in Brazil. This role will work closely with a distributed team, including Brazil and Canada based engineers. We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is primarily backend-focused but comfortable contributing to the frontend when needed. You'll play a key role in shaping systems, building scalable applications, and leveraging AI tools to move faster and smarter. S.-based company building cutting-edge fintech products Flexible schedule with alignment to East Coast hours Collaborative, international team with strong engineering talent Opportunity to work with modern technologies and AI-driven development WHAT YOU' LL DO Build and scale Java-based backend systems and microservices Contribute to frontend features (React or similar) when needed Design robust, scalable applications and system architectures Use AI tools (Claude, Codex, etc.) to accelerate development and problem-solving Write and refine effective AI prompts for engineering workflows Collaborate closely with Product and Design to deliver impactful features Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and agile processes Debug and resolve production issues and performance challenges WHAT WE' RE LOOKING FOR 8+ years of software engineering experience (strong backend focus in Java) Experience with Spring, microservices, and REST APIs Comfortable working across the stack (React/Type Script or similar) Hands-on experience with AI coding tools (Claude, Codex, etc.) Strong system design and problem-solving skills Experience with Postgre SQL, Docker, CI/CD, and AWS Able to thrive in a fast-moving environment and adapt quickly Company Website:
