The Content Platform Engineering team focuses on building and enhancing platform capabilities with a strong emphasis on computer vision and machine learning workflows to power Disney’s media supply chain and content delivery across brands such as Disney+, ESPN+, Hulu, ABC, Marvel, and Star Wars.
In this role, you will design and implement scalable systems, data pipelines, and platform services that enable automated inspection, validation, and enrichment of media assets. You will build end-to-end media inspection pipelines that leverage computer vision to streamline content analysis and inspection, using modern software engineering practices and cloud infrastructure to create robust, extensible platforms for intelligent content operations at scale.
Responsibilities
- Write and maintain software solutions: design, write, test, and deploy high-quality code to develop reliable, maintainable software solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: work with platform engineers, product teams, and data scientists to align technical solutions with business goals and content strategies.
- Production support: monitor and optimize production systems to ensure platform stability, performance, and uptime.
- Mentorship: provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers to foster collaboration and continuous learning.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of software engineering experience with significant expertise in Java.
- Advanced English level.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and scalable backend systems.
- Experience designing and developing REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
- Experience building cloud-native applications on AWS.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD, testing strategies, and software engineering best practices.
- Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures (Kafka, SNS, SQS).
- Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, and ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
- Experience with Python, media technology, computer vision, or machine learning is a plus.
