Position Details
- Role: Java Backend Engineer
- Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands
- Work Model: Hybrid (2 days/week onsite)

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build and support microservices-based architectures with high availability and performance.
- Develop and consume RESTful APIs and event-driven services.
- Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making.
- Ensure code quality through unit testing, integration testing, and engineering best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and performance bottlenecks.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards and development processes.
Mandatory Technical Skills
- 8+ years of hands-on backend development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Java (8+) and Spring Boot.
- Solid experience designing and implementing Microservices Architectures.
- Strong experience with REST APIs, messaging systems, and asynchronous processing.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Good experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Maven/Gradle.
- Experience with Docker and containerized deployments.
