Freelance Analyst Developer (Java / Spring)
About the Role
We are looking for an Analyst Developer with strong expertise in Java and Spring technologies to join a dynamic development team.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing high-quality applications, while ensuring performance, usability, and reliability. You will act as a key link between business and IT, translating functional requirements into robust technical solutions.
Your Responsibilities
Development & Delivery
- Design and develop applications using Java (J2EE) and Spring Framework
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and integration services
- Ensure high-quality code aligned with internal development standards
Technical Analysis
- Translate functional requirements into technical designs
- Collaborate directly with business stakeholders to clarify needs
- Produce clear technical documentation and specifications
Testing & Quality
- Perform and support unit testing, system testing, and UAT
- Analyze test results, identify defects, and implement improvements
- Contribute to continuous improvement of application quality
Implementation & Collaboration
- Follow coding standards and best practices
- Work closely with cross-functional teams and other IT domains
- Support deployment and ensure smooth integration of solutions
Your Profile
Must-have skills
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent experience
- First experience as a Java Developer / Analyst Developer
- Strong knowledge of:
- Core Java & J2EE
- Spring Framework
- REST APIs
- JDBC
- Experience with integration technologies:
- JMS (message queues)
- Apache Camel
- Familiar with:
- Git (version control)
- Maven / Gradle
- CI/CD (e.g. Jenkins)
- Tomcat
- Testing experience with:
- JUnit, Mockito
- Fluent in English (Dutch or French is a plus)
Nice to Have
- Experience with Agile/Scrum environments
- Knowledge of Jira
- Exposure to logging/monitoring tools (e.g. Kibana)
- Experience with insurance sector
- Knowledge of Swagger, JAXB, XSD, Zephyr
