About the Role
We are seeking a Software Engineer II to join a high-performing engineering team responsible for building and enhancing large-scale software solutions. This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge GenAI and LLM-powered products whilst contributing across the full software development lifecycle, from design and implementation through to deployment and production support.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain high-quality software applications using modern engineering practices.
- Build scalable microservices and distributed systems within a cloud-native environment.
- Write clean, reusable and maintainable code following established development standards and patterns.
- Develop and maintain automated tests to ensure software quality and reliability.
- Monitor application performance, availability and operational health, responding proactively to issues.
- Support production systems and investigate incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing long-term fixes.
- Contribute to the design and evolution of technical solutions, ensuring alignment with architectural standards.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Commercial software engineering experience in a backend-focused development environment.
- Strong Java development experience.
- Python development experience is desirable
- Experience building cloud-native applications on AWS.
- Strong understanding of Microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Experience working with Kubernetes and containerised applications.
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices, automated testing and DevOps principles.
- Experience designing and supporting APIs and scalable backend services.
- Understanding of software architecture, system design and engineering best practices.
- Exposure to GenAI, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI-powered applications or machine learning engineering would be highly advantageous.
