STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a Senior Java Spring Boot Migration Consultant on behalf of our client in a remote environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Java/Spring Boot architecture, enterprise application modernization, messaging platforms, and cloud/container technologies. This role will lead migration assessments, architecture design, and target-state planning for complex enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities-
Lead deep-dive architecture assessments for individual system/application IDs across multiple project sprints.

Develop L2 sequence diagrams, data-flow diagrams, and current/target-state architecture documentation.

Define messaging architecture, including IBM MQ RDQM queue topology and message-ordering strategies.

Design transition architectures from current-state environments to target-state platforms.

Lead migration planning from Oracle AQ to IBM MQ RDQM, with long-term transition planning toward Confluent Kafka.

Define appropriate service boundaries and identify opportunities for application refactoring.

Assess and document Spring Boot application migration strategies.

Inventory and evaluate Autosys batch jobs and validate lift-and-shift approaches to cloud infrastructure.

Design OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) deployment architecture, including pod sizing, resource quotas, and namespace strategies.

Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to validate technical approaches and migration patterns.

Produce clear technical documentation and architecture diagrams for stakeholder review.

8+ years of experience in Java, Spring Boot development, and software architecture.

Strong production experience with IBM MQ and message-driven middleware.

Hands-on expertise with OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) in self-managed environments.

Strong understanding of Confluent Kafka architecture and enterprise event-streaming concepts.

Experience with event-driven architecture and patterns such as:

Understanding of Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migration considerations.

Experience with Autosys job scheduling and batch-processing environments.

Strong experience creating architecture documentation, sequence diagrams, data-flow diagrams, and target-state designs.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills.

Experience with large-scale enterprise application modernization and migration programs.

Experience transitioning legacy messaging platforms to modern event-streaming architectures.

Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and AWS/EC2 migration strategies.

Experience defining containerized application deployment strategies and resource requirements.

Experience working with cross-functional architecture, development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams.
