Senior Java Support Engineer
Location: Montreal, QC
Onsite (3-4 days per week)
Position Overview
We are seeking a technically strong Senior Java Support Engineer with 8+ years of experience in application support and software development. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with excellent analytical and communication skills, capable of working independently while effectively interacting with customers, business users, and technical teams.
This role involves supporting and enhancing a critical in-house web application, ensuring system stability, resolving production issues, and contributing to ongoing development initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in Java application development and production support
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Experience working in a support environment, including incident management and break-fix activities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently as an Individual Contributor
- Comfortable interacting directly with customers and end users when required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide application maintenance and production support during EST business hours
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues and defects
- Perform break-fix activities and root cause analysis
- Develop and implement application enhancements and new features
- Support annual technology and library upgrades
- Monitor application performance and ensure system stability
- Collaborate with business users and technical teams to deliver effective solutions
- Maintain technical documentation and support processes
