Position Overview

The Java Technical Lead & Architect will lead the architecture, design, and development of retailcloud's core backend platform, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions across multiple product lines, including Billing, F&B, Mobile POS, Omni-Channel, and ERP integrations. The role is responsible for driving technical strategy, mentoring engineering teams, establishing architectural best practices, and delivering robust distributed systems that support the company's long-term growth and innovation.
Responsibilities

Architect and implement scalable, distributed microservices using Spring Boot and Java 8+.
Provide technical leadership, team building, mentoring, and guidance to the development team.
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Design and optimize caching strategies, batch processing frameworks, and messaging systems.
Ensure high performance and scalability of databases with expertise in SQL and query optimization.
Troubleshoot complex issues and provide reliable solutions for large-scale systems.
Introduce new architectural components and continuously improve overall system architecture

Requirements

Senior (8+ years), with prior experience as a Technical Lead or Architect on large-scale distributed systems
Proven experience architecting and building large-scale backend systems.
Strong proficiency in Core Java, microservices, Spring Boot, and messaging systems.
Expertise in database design, SQL, and query optimization.
Ability to debug complex issues and optimize system performance.
Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and system monitoring tools.
Preferred: Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and related cloud services.
Preferred: Familiarity with streaming platforms and high-volume data processing.
Preferred: Proven track record of building scalable, high-performance systems.
