Job Description - Roles and Responsibilities
- We are looking for an experienced and versatile Senior JavaScript Developer (frontend and backend) to strengthen the Building Blocks team and the Partner Portal team within Loke platform Vlaanderen.
- The assignment includes the design, implementation and maintenance of scalable and performant services based on a modern microservices architecture in the cloud. The focus is on accessible and user-friendly Vue 3/Nuxt applications, robust Node.js backends, integration with REST APIs and a unified user experience via the Flemish Design System.
- The developer monitors the technical quality, security and integration within the broader architecture, and works closely with the program architect and the team on continuous improvement of processes and collaboration.
- Proven experience in development of the based applications
- Proven experience in leading a development team and coaching developers.
- Be able to perform demonstrable experience in programming assignments very smoothly: coding, testing and debugging.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Agile development methodology, in which a leading role can be taken.
- Language requirement: Dutch at European CEFR - level C2.
Technical context:
Front-end development, with emphasis on:
- Building and optimizing Vue/Nuxt applications with a strong focus on UI/UX, accessibility and performance.
- Implementing the Flemish Design System, so that all frontends of the Flemish government offer a uniform user experience.
- Implementing UI components, including mockups and prototypes that support development.
- Validation of implementations based on WCAG guidelines and collaboration with UI/UX experts.
Backend and backend-for-Front development, with emphasis on:
- Developing REST APIs and backend-for-front services in Node.js for efficient data exchange.
- Work with microservice architectures and cloud-native solutions on AWS.
- Supporting the development team in the correct implementation of the Flemish Design System and the APIs.
- Developing scalable and secure software solutions, with attention to privacy and information security.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process and cooperation within the team.
Skills
- Demonstrable experience in development of the based applications-Must Have (Senior 5 years)
- Proven experience in realizing modular front-end applications-Must Have (Senior 5 years)
- Proven experience with Javascript (Node.js) Developer -Must Have (Intermediate –3 years)
- Demonstrable knowledge of frontend framework Vue.js-Must Have
- Demonstrated knowledge of developing REST APIs and experience in integrating such APIs-Must Have
- Proven experience in leading a development team and coaching developers.
- Be able to perform demonstrable experience in programming assignments very smoothly: coding, testing and debugging.
- Demonstrable experience with Agile operation and scrum-Should Have (Intermediate – 3 years)
- Proven experience in taking ownership of one or more software applications-Should Have (Intermediate – 3 years)
- Demonstrable experience with working smoothly in a multidisciplinary team, in which you respect the expertise of all members in the team-Should Have (Intermediate – 3 years)
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Agile development methodology, in which a leading role can be taken.
