Lead Cloud Developer

We are seeking a Lead Cloud Developer, an experienced software engineer, who will contribute to the creation of a new solution in the Accounts Payable (AP) data security space including document forensics and capabilities for fraud and overpayment prevention and detection. Your role will be focused on building advanced data analysis software using the latest technologies to deliver large-scale, high-performance, enterprise-grade solutions — while also providing technical leadership and mentoring to the team, helping to shape engineering practices and raise the bar on code quality and architectural decisions.

This is a hands-on technology role, ideal for candidates seeking opportunities to both leverage their existing experience and research new knowledge areas with a significant share of design and exploratory elements to their day-to-day tasks.

You will be working alongside engineers and developers from the AP Assurance Team assisted by our AI Engineering team, with access to the latest technology and in integration with other Basware solutions. The product you will be contributing to is targeted at the large, well-known enterprises.

We will expect you to take ownership of the key architectural and technical elements and decisions in the solution and the cross-team collaboration with the purpose of delivering the product to our clients.

• 8+ years of commercial experience building, designing and architecting large-scale business data management/analytical solutions
• Extensive experience in cloud-based software development (Azure or AWS) of data-intensive solutions
• Experience with data management software, including RDBMS, No-SQL, data streaming platforms
• Hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of at least one of: SQL Server, SingleStore, Apache Spark, Apache Ignite, DuckDB, Databricks
• Solid understanding of cloud architecture and platform services for data and applications (compute, storage, messaging, secrets)
• Proven hands-on experience in the application of AI-assisted coding techniques
• Strong understanding of AI-capability application in software solutions
• Ability to analyze, understand and build complex workflows and data processing software
• Proficiency in at least two of: C#, Python, SQL
• Comfortable communication in English
• Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to handle requirements across business, engineering, architecture, and security domains
• Strong sense of ownership over software quality — comfortable driving high standards, code quality culture and engineering best practices in testing
• A pragmatic engineering mindset, focused on the delivery of reliable, maintainable, scalable and user-friendly software

Considered as a strong plus:

• Understanding of data engineering concepts (batch/streaming, ETL/ELT, orchestration, data quality) and experience working closely with data engineers
• Previous experience in business document processing and analytics
• Understanding of document and payment security aspects of business operations (e.g. as elements of P2P processes)
• Past experience with SQL Server Integration Services and/or T-SQL
• Experience with AI tools, frameworks or applications is considered a strong asset.
