Lead Data Engineer
Location: Charlotte, NC 28273 (100% Onsite 5 Days/Week)

Note:
- Must have strong hands-on experience with the latest version of Azure Databricks.
- Strong communication skills required.
- Experience leading and mentoring a team of Data Engineers is required.
- Power BI and MicroStrategy experience highly preferred.
- Reporting platform will be primarily Power BI.
Position Overview:
Our client, a large healthcare organization, is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience designing and developing enterprise data solutions using Azure Databricks, PySpark, SQL, and Delta Lake. This role will focus on building scalable data pipelines, modernizing data platforms, ensuring data quality, and leading a team of data engineers.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience working with Azure Databricks.
- 5+ years of experience in data warehouse analysis, design, and development.
- Strong knowledge of data warehouse methodologies, data modeling, and operational data stores.
- 5+ years of experience with ETL/ELT development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python, PySpark, SQL, and Terraform.
- Experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale data pipelines.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex data issues and provide scalable solutions.
- Excellent technical, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional certification preferred.
- Experience with Power BI and MicroStrategy reporting platforms.
- Experience with Unity Catalog, Azure security, and governance frameworks.
- Healthcare or regulated industry experience preferred.
