We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Lead DevOps Engineer to drive and execute complex infrastructure projects, focusing on Cassandra migration from AWS to on-prem Kubernetes clusters. This role is a unique opportunity to shape infrastructure strategy, ensure reliability, and enable scalability within mission-critical environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Cassandra migration from Cloud (AWS) to on-prem Kubernetes, owning the process from planning to delivery and maintenance
- Ensure the high availability, fault tolerance, and optimized performance of Cassandra within on-prem Kubernetes clusters
- Deploy and manage Kubernetes operators to automate cluster lifecycle and enhance resilience
- Build comprehensive migration playbooks, process documentation, and train internal teams for future operational ownership
- Collaborate cross-functionally to streamline DevOps practices and ensure alignment with organizational goals
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize infrastructure to ensure peak operational performance
- Advocate for best practices around security, scaling, and RBAC design in Kubernetes environments
Requirements :
- 5+ years in Infra/DevOps with at least 3 years of hands-on experience managing Kubernetes in production (on-prem or hybrid setups)
- Demonstrated technical leadership with 1+ years of relevant experience
- Profound expertise in Kubernetes, including the management of StatefulSets, PersistentVolumes, and storage classes, implementation of network policies and ingress controllers, resource provisioning, autoscaling strategies, and RBAC security design
- Hands-on capabilities with Operators, including installation, customization, and handling lifecycle management through OLM, Helm, and custom-built solutions
- Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages for automation tasks and tooling development
- Background in networking and OS administration with strong fundamentals for infrastructure optimization
- Skills in IaC technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
- Competency in CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, and ArgoCD for pipeline creation and automation practices
- Excellent command of English (B2+ level), both written and spoken, with a strong emphasis on technical communication skills
Nice to have
- Cassandra specialization, including deploying, tuning, and operating Cassandra clusters on Kubernetes through Cass-operator or K8ssandra
- Working experience with cloud platforms like AWS, focusing on services such as EKS, EC2, RDS, S3, and VPC for assessing the migration source environment
- Familiarity with distributed database concepts like replication, partitioning, and consistency models
- Capability for advanced troubleshooting in distributed systems, including networking bottlenecks and performance tuning challenges
