The Lead Engineer serves as the critical link between the client’s engineering team and the offshore delivery team for aerospace structural design projects. This role ensures seamless coordination, compliance with aerospace standards, and timely delivery of high-quality engineering outputs across aircraft programs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client Interface & Coordination
- Act as the single point of contact (SPOC) for the client’s structural engineering team
- Coordinate daily interactions with client stakeholders (Design, Stress, MRB, Manufacturing teams)
- Translate client requirements into actionable inputs for offshore teams
- Participate in technical reviews, design discussions, and program meetings
2. Structural Design & Analysis Coordination
- Coordinate design and development of aircraft structural components (fuselage, wing, empennage, interiors, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with aerospace standards such as:
- FAR/CS regulations
- Company-specific design practices (e.g., ABD, BAC, DHC standards)
- Review and validate:
- 2D drawings and 3D models
- Stress analysis reports
- Modification packages and concessions
- Individually Execute the tasks based on the requirements
- Support on the Enovia upload/download/ links creation etc.
3. Tools & PLM Coordination
- Work within client PLM systems such as:
- CATIA (V5/V6)
- ENOVIA
- Teamcenter (if applicable)
- Ensure proper data management, version control, and release processes
- Support issue resolution related to CAD/PLM workflows
4. Change Management & MRB Support
- Coordinate engineering changes (ECR/ECO) and ensure proper implementation
- Support MRB (Material Review Board) activities:
- Disposition of non-conformances (Use-As-Is, Repair, Rework)
- Ensure timely closure of design queries and shop floor issues
5. Manufacturing & Production Support
- Interface with manufacturing teams for build issues and design clarifications
- Support concession handling and deviation management
- Ensure producibility and manufacturability of designs
6. Project Tracking & Delivery
- Track deliverables, schedules, and milestones
- Identify risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks
- Provide daily/weekly status reports to stakeholders
- Ensure adherence to SLAs and KPIs
7. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure deliverables meet aerospace quality standards
- Participate in design reviews, audits, and compliance checks
- Maintain documentation traceability and configuration control
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Aerospace / Mechanical Engineering
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of:
- Aircraft structures and materials (metallic & sheet metal)
- Structural design principles and load paths
- Stress analysis fundamentals
- Hands‑on experience with:
- CATIA (mandatory)
- ENOVIA
- Drawing standards and GD&T
Domain Knowledge
- Familiarity with:
- Aircraft certification requirements (FAR/CS 25)
- Engineering change processes (ECR/ECO)
- MRB and concession workflows
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management
- Ability to work in onsite‑offshore delivery models
- Problem‑solving and decision‑making skills
- Ability to handle high‑pressure project environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working with OEM programs
- Experience in digital mock‑up (DMU) and clash analysis
- Accurate and timely coordination of structural design deliverables
- Zero‑defect quality in drawings/models released to client

- Seamless communication between onsite and offshore teams
