Machine Learning (Python) Engineer – Brussels


Location: Brussels, Belgium – hybrid,

50% onsite per week on-site


Contract: 12 months with possible extension

Start date: 24 August 2026

Working pattern: Full-time – 50% onsite


Candidates must reside in Belgium for the full duration of the project.


We are looking for an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to support the development, deployment and monitoring of production-ready AI and machine learning services within a large banking environment.


You will work closely with Data Scientists, AI and Analytics teams, and IT Production to ensure machine learning models are designed with production requirements in mind and successfully integrated into secure, reliable and scalable industrial pipelines.


This role is ideal for an engineer who combines strong Python and MLOps expertise with the ability to bridge the gap between data science and production IT.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and automate production-ready ML pipelines.
  • Work with Data Scientists to design solutions that meet business and production requirements.
  • Support model deployment, retraining, monitoring and data-quality checks.
  • Build containerised environments and create unit, regression and integration tests.
  • Support CI/CD processes and the configuration of production environments.
  • Implement code, model and data-versioning standards.
  • Ensure deployed models remain stable, reliable and properly monitored.


Essential Skills

  • At least four years of relevant Machine Learning Engineering or MLOps experience.
  • Advanced Python development skills.
  • Strong experience with containerisation and virtualisation.
  • CI/CD experience, ideally GitLab CI.
  • Code, model and data versioning.
  • Package and dependency management.
  • PostgreSQL.
  • Experience deploying ML solutions into production.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
  • Fluent English.


Desirable Skills

  • Apache Spark and other big-data technologies.
  • ETL/ELT and data-flow processing tools.
  • Model-compression techniques.
  • Data-visualisation tools.
  • Experience integrating distributed, mainframe or enterprise infrastructure.
  • French and/or Dutch language skills.

The successful candidate will be an effective communicator with strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a proactive, results-driven approach.
