MAIT Task Manager – Aerospace / Production / Operational Excellence Methods / SAP

Background: This is the central interface between engineering and production. It maps the requirements from engineering (structural layout plan) into SAP. It monitors cost and schedule adherence in production.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Project coordination (internal/external) to ensure smooth execution at the manufacturing level. This includes:
  • Supporting operations during the quotation and concept phases.
  • Coordinating production planning for detailed manufacturing planning and resources.
  • Planning, controlling, and monitoring the production of assigned projects on time and within budget.
  • Coordinating the test planner for the timely creation of test documentation – ensuring the planning of all necessary resources.
  • Proactively requesting technical data packages, approvals, etc.
  • Serving as the central point of contact for manufacturing-related questions from development, quality assurance, and manufacturing.
  • Defining the cost structure in Planta and SAP.
  • Coordinating long-lead items, required J&T, operating and auxiliary materials, and triggering their release.
  • Conducting regular manufacturing meetings.
  • Making make-or-buy decisions according to project and QMS specifications.
  • Meeting or exceeding predefined deadlines and cost targets.
  • Reporting on manufacturing progress (e.g., deadlines, costs, risks, NCs) to project managers and supervisors.
  • Developing and proposing solutions for production bottlenecks or difficulties.
  • Maintaining master data and the logistics data package.
  • Cleanup upon project completion.
  • Project mapping in SAP, network diagram.
  • Supporting quotations.
  • Resource planning.
  • Production documentation for PDR, CDR, MRR, PRR and acceptance.
  • Production meetings and minutes.
  • Monthly project status report.
  • Project completion report.
  • Key figures for production budgets (cost structure).
  • Pre- and post-calculation – progress reports.

Must-haves

  • Solid technical and production background in a project-based industry.
  • Good knowledge of the SAP system and MS Office applications.
  • Good understanding of Operational Excellence methods.
  • Good planning and coordination skills.
