Senior Manager - Cloud Application Development
For a banking and financial institution undergoing extensive digital transformation, Adecco is seeking a Senior Manager - Cloud Application Development to support mission‑critical initiatives.
In this role, you will oversee system design, development, and support for application systems that underpin eKYC processes and broader digital transformation programs. The position is responsible for managing complex projects, coordinating with cross‑functional teams, and ensuring that cloud‑based solutions, Microservices, and APIs integrate effectively with existing banking systems. You will be involved across the full system development lifecycle, collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors, and provide technical leadership to resolve issues and maintain stable, secure, and scalable applications.
What You Will Do?
Lead system design, development, and support of application systems for eKYC and bank digital transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with technical and business requirements.
Manage eKYC and digital transformation projects by collaborating with cross‑functional teams to gather business requirements and provide consultation to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Implement APIs and Microservices and coordinate system integration with existing banking systems, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable interoperability across platforms.
Assist with project management activities, including resource control, vendor monitoring, and reporting to supervisors as necessary to maintain visibility on project status and risks.
Participate in the full system development lifecycle, covering user requirement collection, analysis and design, development, SIT, UAT, training, documentation, and ongoing support for assigned application systems.
Troubleshoot application and integration problems, propose recommendations to resolve issues, and collaborate with developers and external parties to address complex technical challenges effectively.
Manage and work closely with external vendors to oversee deliverables, ensure adherence to technical specifications, and maintain service quality for cloud‑based and on‑premise solutions.
Your Skills
Bachelor’s degree or above with a major in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, providing a solid foundation in software and systems development.
At least 5 years of working experience, preferably in the Banking and Finance sector, with proven responsibility for enterprise application development, integration, and support.
Solid experience in Cloud Platform environments, Microservice architectures, API development, Spring boot, Spring Cloud, JSON, Swagger, and related technologies used in modern banking applications.
Experience in system development on Cloud Platform and knowledge of CI/CD Pipeline practices, DevSecOps tools, open source framework technologies, containers, docker, and Kubernetes is considered an advantage.
Knowledge of Oracle, DB2, MySQL, Mongo DB, WebSphere, MQ, AIX, and Linux is an advantage, supporting effective work across database, middleware, and operating system layers.
Professional qualification in Agile and Scrum is an advantage, combined with strong project management, analytical, problem solving, decision making, communication, and negotiation skills.
Positive attitude, self‑motivation, adaptability to changes, ability to work under pressure, and good command of written English and Chinese, together with spoken English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
